MICHAEL GARRICK SEPTET Black Marigolds (Rare 1968 UK lemon Argo label 9-track mono LP, featuring Garrick on piano, harpsichord and celeste, Ian Carr, Joe Harriott, Don Rendell, Tony Coe, Dave Green and Trevor Tomkins. Additional drum work andpoetry from Colin Barnes, lending a quirky, decidedly British feel to the whole. Highlights are the Indian raga inspired title track plus modal workout Ursula, the latter compiled on Volume Two of Gilles Peterson's Impressed With compilation,front laminated picture sleeve. The sleeve shows light foxing with a little ringwear to the reverse; the spine has a 1cm split to the middle which leaves the text unaffected.
