MAYNARD FERGUSON A Message From Birdland (2007 UK 12-track CD album - Featuring drummer Frankie Dunlop [who also worked extensively with Thelonius Monk], Joe Zawinul [on piano] and the incomparable Ferguson on Trumpet, this was a smoking hot, swinging Jazz Orchestra and their renditions of Sonny Rolins's 'Oleo', Slide Hampton's 'The Mark of Jazz' and Benny Golson's 'Starfire' are fine examles of just what a great night you could have had in these times in New York City, and that we can still enjoy today)
