THE MONKS Black Time (2005 US 16-track vinyl LP - The Monks were 4 American GIs stationed in Germany in the early 60s; after starting out as a typical beat band, they developed an extremely unique, sinister and downright threatening style in late 1965, much of which predated the same sentiments that would be attributed to punk 10 years later, featuring searing feedback, pounding drums, barked non-sensical lyrics, manic organ, fuzz bass and electric banjo! This LP offers their entire released output from 1966-67: I saw these guys play in October '06, and they totally ROCKED! Get this album NOW!!)
