Tracklisting & More Information

This Detroit vocal quartet were one of the first white groups to record for Motown. Originally issued in the US on Gordy 7013 in January 1963, this is their sole UK release (issued two months later) - one of nineteen that Motown licensed to the Oriole label in an attempt to break into the UK market, and one that hardly ever appears for sale!
Lead singer Stuart Avig went on to record for Ed Wingate at Detroit's other legendary studio Golden World, finding favour on the UK Northern Soul scene with 'Angelina, Oh Angelina' (as Stewart Ames).

On to condition…
The vinyl shows quite a number of scuff marks and some scratches but retains a nice shine and plays through with no jumps and minimal background noise thanks to the quality of the mastering and the heavyweight vinyl used - it really does sound terrific! The matrix/master numbers are hand scratched into the 'dead wax' area on each side.
The black and white 'rough' textured paper labels are clean with sharp silver print. Most importantly, the original 4-prong centre remains intact and shows little discernible spindle wear!
