WINGS At The Speed Of Sound (Rare 1977 Japanese official Toshiba-EMI In-house sales award disc PRESENTED TO WINGS & issued 'In recognition of the excellent sales of your records in Japan in 1976'. This amazing item is unusual in thatit features a gold plated METAL MOTHER STAMPER with album label, instead of the usual LP, that has had a clock face & working clock mounted into it. This is set on a purple velvet background with presentation plate in thebottom right, housed in a superb metal frame)

This amazing item is nearly thirty years old but is in fantastic 'as new' condition.

Apart from Japanese awards VERY RARELY turning up on the collector's market, the fact that this features a Metal Mother Stamper makes it very unusual indeed - An original stamper for this album would be £650 on it's own !!
Most Awards feature a gold plated LP, but the Japanese have a reputation for quality & this is a great reinforcement of that.

The Dimensions of the metal frame are approximately 18" square, 1½" deep & very sturdily built.
The purple velvet background & the gold plaque in the bottom right corner are both pristine.

The clock face features 3, 6, 9 & 12 in gold finished numbers with 'bars' marking the other positions on the clockface.
The clock mechanism itself is battery operated quartz, made in Japan, & freely accessable from the back of the frame. The 'classic' style hands are black metal.
This too is pristine.

An incredible item that is sure not to hang around for long !!
