Released on 31st March 1969, this was the world debut of Led Zeppelin.
The very first UK issue had this Turquoise lettered sleeve. The rear picture is a degree more brown tinted than the later orange copies.
There is a noticeable grey bar at the bottom of the front image which characterised the Polydor pressings and was removed when they changed to Warner distribution.
The reverse of the sleeve has the 'Uptight An' Outasight' credit that was replaced with a Warner credit after the Polydor issues.

The labels have 'Superhype' and 'Jewel Music' credits under the tracklisting & the label design is the familiar plum & red design with black fan to the right, 'Made in Gt. Britain' at the top & 'Polydor Records Limited' at the bottom.

This version has the corrected matrices with the third number scratched out and with an '8' hand scratched.

Sleeve

The sleeve remains in very nice condition with a few light laminate creases in places. There is no edge scuffing and the pinched spine has just a couple of minor crease lines and all text is clearly legible. Its condition as a fifty four year old album remains very respectable indeed. The front image is still very white and could easily be displayed. Overall this is an Excellent condition example of a very sought after sleeve.

Vinyl
This is a nice one previous owner copy. Looking at the labels, there are few signs of play around the centre hole.

The vinyl has been professionally cleaned both sides & the sound quality is superb. Visually there are some very faint cosmetic signs of play including the odd minor paper hairline scuff with no major issues and a few miniscule blemishes which have no effect on play. Both sides play without fault & to an Excellent standard, thanks to the superior quality of this pre-oil crisis pressing.

All in all an Excellent example.
