THE BEAT UP Black Rays Defence (2005 UK Limited Edition 10-track vinyl LP from the group formerly known as The Beatings, produced by Kevin Shields [My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream]) A fuzzed up, delinquent strain of rock 'n' roll, this debut long player oozes a primeval spirit that recalls the likes of Blue Cheer, The Dead Boys & The Sonics. Operating at full throttle with Kevin Shields at the helm, they have created the first sneering blast of unadulterated punk rock of 2005.
