Tracklisting & More Information

On February 28, 1966, one lucky competition winner met The Rolling Stones at Wellington Town Hall, New Zealand, after the band's 6pm show. This was the concert where Stones frenzy was at such a peak, police had to restrain a fan who leaped on stage in an attempt to grab Mick Jagger. That same night a teenage girl fell from the theatre balcony & dislocated her leg from sheer excitement.

This particular competition winner was one of four successful entrants in the Sunday News Meet The Rolling Stones competition. She was informed on February 20, 1966 with a confirmation letter written and signed by the Sunday News show business columnist David Burke-Kennedy. Remarkably, the letter has survived & remains intact with all text legible.

The results of the competition were announced a short time later in a column in the paper under the heading 'STONES WINNERS'. The results notification is included here & this coupled with the original confirmation letter makes for the best certificate of authenticity imaginable.

The successful applicant spoke with all five members of The Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts) and they signed autographs for her, each on separate 5.5" x 4" notepaper in blue biro.
Bill Wyman's autograph is accompanied by the word 'STONES' written in Mr Wyman's own hand and circled once by him. Charlie Watts' autograph is accompanied by the words 'THE ROLLING STONES' written in Mr Watts' own hand and circled three times by him. All five autographs are written on seperate coloured autograph book sized pages with clean undersides. All signatures are clear & underneath the autographs the prize winner has written each band member name in her own hand. The autographs are all personally addressed, with the exception of Bill Wyman's.

In addition to the confirmation letter and results notification, we have two surviving 4" x 4" colour polaroid photographs that show the prize winner & two other contest winners, posing with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Bill Wyman.

Only set to increase in value as a collector's piece, this is a unique one-off set with its authenticity clear as daylight. Please study the scans carefully to assess the condition of each part.
