Tracklisting & More Information

The photograph is a machine printed magzine page measuring 22cmx34cm (approx 8" x 13") It is a full colour shot of the band in a motor boat and each member has signed close to their respective image in ballpoint pen.

Chris Dreja and Keith Relf have signed in red, Jim McCarty has signed in black and Paul Samwell-Smith and Eric Clapton have signed in black.

The bulk of the band's conceptual ideas, as well as their songwriting, came from the quartet of singer/harmonica player Keith Relf, drummer Jim McCarty, rhythm guitarist/bassist Chris Dreja, and bassist/producer Paul Samwell-Smith, all of whom co-wrote the Yardbirds' original hits and constituted the core of the group, however it was Clapton guitar and Relf's harmonica that set them apart from other RnB groups of the time.

This line-up wasn't to last very long, in fact by March 1965 Clapton became unhappy with the pop direction the band were heading in following the success of the Graham Gouldman penned 'For Your Love' and decided to leave.

Given that Clapton joined the group in October 1963 and left in March 1965, it is unlikely that many full sets of autographs exist, especially a set as beautiful as this and in such fine condition!

The photograph has been professionally matted, framed and glazed in a gold coloured frame. This item was previously sold via Christies auction house in September 1996 and still has the original Christies sticker on the reverse of the frame.

A beautiful display item!
