THE SKATALITES Herb Dub-Collie Dub (Super rare 1976 UK
original 8-track LP on a turquoise blue Jigsaw label, recorded
in 1975 at Aquarius Studios and Lee Perry's Black Ark, mixed
at Aquarius and King Tubby's. This is a dub version of the
instrumental album 'The Legendary Skatalites' which
appeared on US label Jam Sounds. Neither The Skatalites nor
any of their members are credited on the sleeve or label.
Housed inside its original plain white sleeve with
pinky-orange coloured titlesticker attached which simply
states, HERB DUB = COLLIE DUB COLLIE DUB = HERB
DUB. As you would expect this is no audiophile pressing
but it plays with excellent clarity, just light surface noise in
places, most audible on the intro to Track 1 Side 1. No skips,
no jumps. Confidently one of the better condition examples
you are ever likely to find and perfectly capable of being
enjoyed at a volume you can feel as well as hear!)

THE SKATALITES / THE MAYTALS Ska War / Perhaps (Ultra
rare & ultra cool 1965 UK 7" vinyl single with four-prong
centre on a misprinted Blue Beat label, which although the
label states 'The Maytals Ska War', the track contained is
actually Treating Me Bad, plain white die-cut sleeve. The label
has a couple of hard-to-spot name annotations on the Ska
War side and is free from paper loss & stickers which bedevils
so many 7"s of this genre. The vinyl shows light scuffing and
plays through with areas of light amibent sound which never
overtake the song and is free from any pops or skips, a really
nice example of a fantastic Blue Beat rarity! 45/BB306)

THE SKATALITES / THE MAYTALS Ska War / Perhaps (Ultra
rare & ultra cool 1965 UK 7" vinyl single with four-prong
centre on a misprinted Blue Beat label, which although the
label states 'The Maytals Ska War', the track contained is
actually Treating Me Bad, plain die-cut sleeve. The label has
areas of discolouration due to sticker removal with no real
paper loss and no writing; the vinyl shows extensive scuffing
leaving it visually Good, however playtesting confirms a great
sound with light ambient noise & just a couple of short bursts
of distortion, but not enough to diminish the great sound of
classic Blue Beat! 45/BB306)
