Bud's playing heard here comes mainly from the remarkable May 1953 New Jazz Society of Toronto concert, a high-point of which was this trio performance featuring Charlie Mingus and Max Roach, with a relatively calm & controlled Bud, just 3 months out of Creedmore state mental hospital. BUD POWELL The Bud Powell Trio (1962 US 10-track stereo LP on BLUE vinyl featuring Charlie Mingus on Bass & Max Roach on Drums, with original advert inner, discography insert & 'stereo' stickered front laminated pasted picture sleeve. The sleeve is reinforced with tape at the edges with one mark on the front but the vinyl is superb. This LP has come from the vast personal collection of the former Director of Publicity & Marketing for Blue Note & has been stamped & annotated on the back of the sleeve as being part of his Jazz Archive - A true piece of Jazz history!) more...
