PAT METHENY One Quiet Night (2009 issue UK 13-track CD album - Originally released in 2003, 'One Quiet Night', is the guitarist's most simply executed and highly personal set. The night in question was November 24th 2001; the location was the home studio in Metheny's apartment. Metheny began to play around with a new baritone guitar he had just acquired, exploring what he has described as an unusual 'low Nashville tuning'. As he told Downbeat at the time, 'I wasn't thinking about anything other than the sound of one note leading me to the next. It was all about discovery. It's about those moments when you're hearing something yourself for the first time. That I had my wits about me to push record and document this experiment was a serendipitous occurrence'. Well known and a personal friend of many of the stars that she collected autographs from, she had unprecedented access to backstage areas and VIP Events that enabled her to amass a vast collection of autographs with consequent impeccable provenance.
