compilation, featuring the 'All Star Sextet' on one side recorded on
15/06/55 & 'Gene Ammons Battles Sonny Stitt' on the other, recorded
1950 & 1951, with the talents of Art Farmer, Lou Donaldson & more.
The pasted picture sleeve shows a little minor edge wear with a small
residual sticker to both sides whilst the vinyl is Excellent with minimal

GENE AMMONS Blue Gene (Rare 1962 UK Esquire issue of the 1958
4-track mono LP with flat edge and 'RVG' stamper, starring Idrees
Suliman, Pepper Adams, Mal Waldron, Doug Watkins, Arthur Taylor &
Ray Barretto. The sleeve is a unique design variantto the US issue;
the jacket has a 2" split (top) and a 1" split (bottom), however the
heavyweight vinyl is excellent and looks barely played. Some even
argue the Esquire pressings are better quality than the Prestiges but
we'll let you be thejudge!)

originates from the private collection of a former staff
member for Dobells record shop in Charing Cross and still has
theshop price sticker on the sleeve. The sleeve shows light
ringwear with fading to the edges and a little discolouration to

year for Prestige in the US & starring Tommy Flanagan, Doug
Watkins, Arthur Taylor Ray Barretto, here with a unique
picture sleevevariant. The sleeve is front laminated with
flipbacks & grades Excellent with just a little light ring wear.
The heavyweight vinyl has a flat edge before the run-in &
'RVG' is machine stamped in the run-outs. The vinyl appears
Excellent with very little evidence of play. For a record that is
