BOOKER ERVIN The Book Cooks (Debut 1961 UK first press 6-track mono LP on the iconic black & gold Parlophone label, immediately announcing the Hard Bop tenorist to the world as a force to be reckoned with. Booker's hot tone is nicely off-set against the cool-sound of saxophonist Zoot Sims, complimented by trumpeter Tommy Turrentine, pianist Tommy Flanagan, bassist George Tucker & drummer Dannie Richmond. Comes housed in the original front laminated flipback picture sleeve completewith the 'Emitex' inner. The sleeve is Excellent with clean panels & no writing or tears. The bottom corners reveal just the odd minor bit of chipping to the laminate & tiny crease mark in the bottom flipback. The vinyl is nice & clean & grades EX/EX+ with a deep sheen both sides & few signs of play. Now very rare! PMC1170)
