LONNIE SMITH All In My Mind (Limited Edition 2020 US 5-track stereo LP in the Blue Note Tone Poet Series, specially plated & pressed at RTI on 180gram Vinyl & mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the original master tape. Featuring spirited interpretations of songs by Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, Paul Simon & more, Hammond B-3 organ legend Dr. Lonnie Smith [not to be confused with Lonnie Liston Smith!] recorded All In My Mind during his 75th birthday celebration at the Jazz Standard in New York City with guitarist Jonathan Kreisberg & drummer Jonathan Blake. It's a great set, with crystal clear sound, reminding you why Lonnie's run of soul-jazz albums on Blue Note from 1968-70 are still so treasured. In honor of Blue Note Records' 80th Anniversary, in 2019, the Jazz label launched the Tone Poet Audiophile Vinyl Reissue Series. Blue Note President Don Was brought in "Tone Poet" Joe Harley—co-founder and co-producer of the acclaimed Music Matters Ltd. audiophile vinyl series—to produce this new series of all-analog, mastered-from-the-original-master-tape 180 gram audiophile vinyl reissues in deluxe gatefold packaging. Mastering is by Kevin Gray (Cohearent Audio) and vinyl is being manufactured at Record Technology Incorporated (RTI).

The titles were handpicked by Harley and cover lesser-known Blue Note classics, modern era standouts, and albums from other labels under the Blue Note catalogue. All In My Mind, however, is a brand new release.
