VARIOUS-CLASSICAL & ORCHESTRAL The Russian Recordings (Rare 2006 German limited edition 5LP set pressed on 180g vinyl, each record is issued in its own heavyweight picture sleeve, also includes a twelve-page booklet with detailed notes and pictures, all housed within a deluxe 12" x 12" wooden box with plexiglass cover. In 1962 these historic recordings were the first ever made in the Soviet Union by American technical and musical staff, using state of the art equipment they captured landmark performances of Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Byron Janis, Shostakovich, Liszt alongside a selection of Balalaika song.
