CANNONBALL ADDERLEY Somethin' Else (Circa 1966 US issue of the classic 1958 US 5-track mono vinyl LP, with 'RVG' stamped in the run-outs & no 'ear' logo [a '9m' contract press etching is visible instead]. The side two label has the 'New York USA' address print & the side one label has 'West 63rd - NYC'. There is a ridge in the label but no 'deep groove' & the vinyl weight is lighter than the original 1958 issue [run-in groove has a raised edge]. This classic Blue Note date needs no introduction, performed with Miles Davis, Hank Jones, Sam Jones & Art Blakey. Comes housed in a heavy pasted laminate picture sleeve with 'West 61st' address on the back & catalogue inner. See 'more info' for condition details... BLP1595)

Label Design: -

Side one has an old 'West 63rd - NYC' address label. There is some light fading to this label side at the bottom. Side two has a 'New York USA' label address. We believe these are left over labels that Liberty would have used once they bought the company in '66 as there is no Plastylite 'ear' etching in the run-offs. The vinyl weight is lighter than a 1958 pressing & there is no 'deep groove' but a 'ridge' in the labels as well as a raised edge before the run-in... the 'RVG' stamp of approval is present in both run-outs.
The record is housed in one of the earlier heavy duty pasted laminate sleeves with the 'West 61st' address on the back. The original catalogue inner is enclosed & there are two early period UK tax import stickers on the back.

Condition :-

This is a nice VG+ example of the sleeve. There is a small crease in the bottom right corner & a 1" hairline split in the spine, with all print clear & legible. There is no writing & the back panel reveals some mild spots of foxing - the edges remain nice & sharp with no heavy scuffing or seam splits.
The vinyl is clean & grades EX/EX- with just some minor cosmetic signs of play. A great sounding example & certainly one for a devoted Blue Note collector.
