VARIOUS The Specialty Story (1994 US limited edition 130-track Five CD box set, containing a bevy of highlights from the seminal R&B/rock & roll label. Over the years label owner, Art Rupe, recorded a little bit of everything, from early big band jump (the Liggins brothers), down-home blues & zydeco (Guitar Slim, Frankie Lee Sims, Clifton Chenier), gospel (early Sam Cooke & the Soul Stirrers) & doo wop (the Pentagons, Jesse Belvin). But with the discovery of the label's biggest star,Little Richard in 1955, here's where the story of rock & roll begins. Each disc is kept in its own album jewel case with picture inlay, complete with an exclusive 46 page booklet, all housed in a clamshell style long box. The packaging shows minimal wear & the contents are near mint 5SPCD-4412-2)
