CHARLES MINGUS Pithecanthropus Erectus (1968 UK repackaging of the 1956 4-track mono LP on the plum & red Atlantic label, also starring Jackie McLean (alto), J. R. Monterose (tenor), Mal Waldron (piano) & Willie Jones (drums). This was Mingus'first masterpiece, including the boundary-pushing title piece, Profile Of Jackie & a wonderfully modern arrangement of Gershwin's, A Foggy Day. Housed in a front laminated picture sleeve with catalogue number sticker on the reverse. The sleeve shows only minor wear and the vinyl has just one light surface scuff on side two plus some minor spindle wear. An excellent example)
