Tracklisting & More Information

Released on 31st March 1969, this was the world debut of Led Zeppelin.
The very first UK issue had this Turquoise lettered sleeve. The rear picture is a degree more brown tinted than the later orange copies.
There is a noticeable grey bar at the bottom of the front image which characterised the Polydor pressings and was removed when they changed to Warner distribution.
The reverse of the sleeve has the 'Uptight An' Outasight' credit that was replaced with a Warner credit after the Polydor issues.

The labels have 'Superhype' and 'Jewel Music' credits under the tracklisting and the side one label has been corrected and now does not erroneously credit the third track twice, with the Superhype credit now listing '1, 2, 4' and not '1, 3, 4'.
The labels are the familiar plum & red design with black fan to the right, 'Made in Gt. Britain' at the top & 'Polydor Records Limited' at the bottom.

The matrix numbers in the run-outs are 588171 A//1 & 588171 B//1, without any correction, so the third digit has not been scratched out and replaced.

More details on Condition:

Sleeve

The sleeve grades Very Good. There is a light corner crease, some minor laminate lift & a few scuffs as to be expected, with no writing or any tearing & all text legible. George Hardie's design still looks exceptional & still very white. Its condition as a forty eight year old album remains very respectable, indeed.

Labels

The iconic plum & red labels bear no writing or tears. There are some light spindle marks by the spindle hole to show play by its one previous owner [who didn't play this masterpiece!].

Vinyl

The vinyl grades Very Good. The wax is nice & clean both sides. There is some light axial wear to the grooves not affecting play & no raised scratches. A few faint paper scuffs & hairlines are rendered mostly cosmetic in nature, thanks to the superior quality of vinyl from this period. A healthy example that comes highly recommended.

This is a lovely copy of an album that takes legendary status in the history of British Rock. By no means mint but still highly respectable, a 'turquoise' Zep is a prize collectable in this day & age & should not be missing in any serious Rock collection!
