CLAUDIA LENNEAR Phew! (1973 UK green label 10-track LP by the former Ikette singer, cited as inspiration for The Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar" & David Bowie's "Lady Grinning Soul". The record is a ballsy Soul & Funk-Rock affair that takes no prisoners [think Betty Davis, Marsha Hunt, Tina Turner], featuring five Allen Toussaint covers including From A Whisper To A Scream & Everything I Do Gonna Be Funky, & guest starring Ry Cooder. The gatefold sleeve is US pressed with a stunningpin-up shot of Claudia inside that immediately tells you why she caught the eye of Mick Jagger & Bowie! The cover has a few scuff marks [small tear to a back edge] & the vinyl grades VG/VG+ with only faint paper hairline scuffs & the odd light mark having little to no effect on play, priced fairly K46204)
