STAN LEVEY This Time The Drums On Me (Rare Pair Of Single-Sided Test Pressings for the 1955 UK 7-track Mono LP, a drummer led Bop winner of the highest order with the great Dexter Gordon [tenor sax], Lou Levy [piano], Frank Rosolino[trombone], Conte Condoli [trumpet] & Leroy Vinnegar [bass]. The Parlophone labels are custom black on white with 'Not For Sale' print & the artist, album title & some of the song details are annotated in blue pen on the labels' playing side of both discs. The matrices in the run-outs are machine stamped 'BCP 37A-1N'/ 'BCP 37B-1N'. This incredible one-off rarity originates from the private collection of a former staff member for Dobells record shop in Charing Cross, untouched for over half a century. Only a small handful of these were pressed to test the sonics & there can be few surviving copies left. Complete with the 'Emitex' inner bag, which is annotated with all the matrix & recordings details, & a pasted card sleeve with a test xerox of the record's back panel album notes, the two vinyl discs are Excellent, & appear nice & clean with just a few faint paper hairlines not affecting play PMC1086)
