CHARLIE PARKER Charlie Parker On Verve 1946-1954 (Magnificent 1983 Japanese 10-LP box set, featuring all of the JATP jams from this period, all of the stunning "Bird & Strings" sides, his meetings with Machito's Cuban orchestra, the 1950 session with Dizzy Gillespie & Thelonious Monk, small-group dates (including a 1951 date with Miles Davis), odd encounters with voices & studio bands, the famous "Jam Blues" with fellow altoists Johnny Hodges & Benny Carter, plus his final recordings, a set of Cole Porter tunes. Comes housed in a deep 12" picture box with 28-page 'sessionography' booklet, obi-strip. The outer box does show a little shelfwear/scuffing but remains fully intact, the vinyl is in near mint condition 00MJ3268/77)
