VARIOUS Jazz (Amazing complete set of ELEVEN Folkways LPs containing classic 'Flapper Jazz' & Blues archive recordings of the Smithsonian Institute, originally released between 1950 & 1954, each with accompanying illustrated booklet detailing the sessions contained therein. Each of the sleeves shows a little of the strain of fifty five years with a few scuffs & some sticker tears, with some of the booklets being attached to the inners, but all sleeves are unsplit & all vinylremains in EX-/EX condition with little sign of play. The records are from the collection of Frederic Ramsey, the editor of the set, dubbed from acoustic and electric recordings originally issued on various labels, recorded between 1922-1945. The program notes by Frederic Ramsey, Jr. are inserted in each sleeve & includes bibliographies. A fantastic collection from the dawn of the genre!)
