brown and tan], with gold filigree-style lettering on the front covers
and spines, each with their own integral illustrated booklet with
biographies, photographs, and detailed information about the music,
composer, artist, and conductor. All LPs are pressed on 160gm
Audiophile RED VINYL, each in their
own anti-static lined sleeve that slide lovingly into the library case. An
amazing sequence of no fewer than one hundred and eighty
performances by some of the greatest soloists, orchestras &
conductors of all recorded time, with each selection being made by a
distinguished panel of music authorities [Martin Bookspan, Schuyler G.
Chapin, Franco Ferrara, Irving Kolodin, William Mann, R. Gallois
Montbrun, Marcel Prawy, Andre Previn, William Schuman and H. H.
Stuckenschmidt] as being nearly definitive. Issued in celebration of
the 100th anniversary of Thomas Edison's invention of the
phonograph, this collection was designed to be a truly unsurpassed
private library of recorded music. Each box set of the fifty is complete
with all orginal inserts & shows minimal scuffing to the outside of the
case, with immaculate vinyl within. The set also comes with two fold
out cross reference inserts for records one to fifty, and fifty one to
one hundred, with a sixteen page booklet explaining the recording &
production process. With content ranging from Enrico Caruso to
Prokofiev & Rachmaninoff performing their own works. An incredible
collection of some of the finest music of all time, produced to the
highest audiophile standards, just waiting to pass on their many hours
of stored enjoyment to the ears of a grateful listener!)
