Having spent the early part of his career in obscurity, the Concierto de Aranjuez made Rodrigo famous overnight and remains one of the most famous and popular pieces of classical guitar music ever composed. Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Concerto in D is less well known, despite being composed in the same year, 1939. It was the last piece Castelnuovo-Tedesco composed in Italy before being forced to flee to the US LPM39166)
