THE BOSWELL SISTERS That's How Rhythm Was Born (2010 issue UK CD album - Most music historians cite Bill Haley and The Comets as the 'father of rock and roll' but in 1934, two full decades before Haley and others launched 'Rock and Roll' onto America's pop music charts, The Boswell Sisters introduced a song titled 'Rock and Roll' into the movie 'Transatlantic Merry-Go-Round' charting in the bestsellers at number 7. The Boswell Sisters were innovative, dynamic and amazingly still sound fresh and vibrant more than 70 years after they broke up [in 1936]. They had a total of 20 hits between 1931 and 1936 and worked with some of the finest names in music at the time including, Glen Miller, Dorsey Brothers, Bennny Goodman, Joe Venuti and Eddie Lang. This collection [released as part of the Art Deco Series] features 20 digitally remastered recordings from their prime period of 1931 to 1934. Complete with a picture booklet containing sleevenotes from Classic Rock's Malcolm Dome)
