THE JACKSON 5 Fully Autographed 1975 Photograph (After more
than twenty years in this business it's not often that you come across
an item that stops you in your tracks, but that's exactly what
happened when I saw this fantastic colour promotional photograph of
eight of the Jackson family FULLY AUTOGRAPHED!!!! The photo
itself measures 10.5" x 8.5" and shows Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Jermaine,
Randy, Latoya, Michael and Janet Jackson in a group pose all happy
and smiling. Of course, with the exception of Michael all of these
artists are still available to sign, however what makes this item of
such historical importance is that this photo was signed in 1975, long
before Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad. Many of the signatures were
still developing as the boys were just teenagers and therefore have
subtle differences to how they would eventually look. In 1975 Michael
himself was only 16 but his handwriting is instantly recognisable,
unlike Janet who didn't really have a signature at nine years old
choosing instead to just write her name in black capitals. A closer
look at the photo will show that Jermaine is not huddled in with his
brothers, perhaps due to the fact that all was not well within the
Jackson 5 at that point. Within a year of this photo being taken the
band would leave and be sued by Motown and join CBS, with Jermaine
leaving the band to stay with Motown as he was married to Berry
Gordy's daughter Hazel. The autographs were obtained 34 years
ago whilst the Jackson 5 were doing a promotional tour in the US for
their ninth and last Motown album Moving Violation. The photo has
been carefully stored in perfect condition inside the album sleeve
since the day the album was purchased, the album itself remaining in
the original shrinkwrap. An interesting, possibly unique item of
incredible historic importance within the entertainment industry and a
true investment grade item.)
