OLIVER NELSON The Blues & The Abstract Truth (1961 first UK issue of Nelson's classic 6-track LP in mono on a gold & maroon 'Nipper' label, an album title which was later echoed by Leon Thomas in his Blues & The Soulful Truth mini-masterpiece.Blues & The Abstract Truth captures Nelson at his most modern alongside Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, George Barrow, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers & Roy Haynes, & was clearly an influence on future modernists [such as Thomas], front laminated flipback picture sleeve with record company inner. The sleeve very little sign of wear to show for its years - an outstanding example. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned & grades EX revealing only a few minor paper hairlines or spindle marks to show play. Recommended CLP1528)
