JACKIE MCLEAN/ JOHN JENKINS Alto Madness (1978 Japanese Prestige promotional 5-track MONO LP manufactured by Victor Musical Industries, with custom printed black on white labels. Alto Madness was first recorded in May 1957 with backing by Wade Legge, Doug Watkins and Arthur Taylor on piano, bass and drums respectively, the method to the madness, as favoured by class musicians such as McLean and Jenkins at the time, being the method of Charlie Parker! Includes a blinding, uptempo and boppish take on The Lady Is A Tramp. Despite a little 'foxing' in places, the pasted picture sleeve, 'Jazz Masters Series' obi and Japanese insert remain in excellent condition, with MINT vinyl SMJ-6596)
