VARIOUS John Hammond's Spirituals To Swing (Superb pair of 1962 mono LPs, issued as Volumes One & Two, featuring thirty one classic tracks recorded at the legendary Carnengie Hall concerts of 1938 & 1939 & featuring a bevy of superstars including the Kansas City Six, Benny Goodman Sextet, Big Bill Broonzy & Count Basie amongst others, captured at their peak as live touring bands. The set also includes a nice double sided narrative insert to complement the extensive sleeve notes with contributions by John Hammond, Sterling A. Brown & Charles Edward Smith. Each volume comes in its own front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeves both show minimal wear & the vinyl remains in excellent condition, showing only light signs of play TFL5187/8)
