LIGHTNIN' HOPKINS Lightnin' (1990 US Prestige Records remastered 10-track vinyl LP. Hopkins was one of the few country bluesmen to have made it big in the rhythm and blues era without having altered his original style or hired a back-up band. Inorder to retain the spontaneity so central to his art, he preferred playing and singing alone or, in the case of this 9 November 1960 session, with minimal accompaniement. And while he picked an acoustic guitar on the date instead of his usualelectric. It detracted little from the urgency of his driving Texas boogies. Housed in great picture sleeve which shows signs of wear however the vinyl is MINT)
