DOWNLINERS SECT The Sect (Debut Garage Rock 1964 UK first press 14-track MONO LP on the blue & black Columbia label with machine stamped matrices ending '1N/1N', one of the first influential British R&B groups in line with The Yardbirds, The Pretty Things & The Rolling Stones. Includes the snarly 'Bloodhound' & the rip-snorting 'One Ugly Child' with the liner notes alluding to an 'anonymous 'great'' who sat in on that track with 'thanks due to Andrew Oldham for loaning him to us'.The front laminated flipback picture sleeve is graded Very Good, with secure flipbacks & no writing, and displays some light general wear and a small tear on the opening edge, a little discolouring on the back forgiveable with age. Both the labels have a few minor spindle marks to show it has been played a few times, whilst the vinyl is clean & grades EX/EX- with the occasional light hairline or surface scuff not affecting play. A really nice example 33SX1658)
