THE BEATLES The 1964 Ed Rudy Interviews From The US Tour (Here we have a complete set of FOUR single-sided metal based high grade methyl cellulose lacquer acetates cut to 7" at 45rpm. These very rare collector's discs document Ed Rudy's historic interviews from the days of Beatlemania. They are original sixties acetates that were produced for radio use on this format in the States. All four are wide centred with custom 'Mirasound Studios, Inc.' labels & a 'West 47th St. New York' address printed along the top in blue. Each label is printed with the running time & name of which Beatle was interviewed [i.e. 'Johns Interview 1:14'/ 'Pauls Interview 1:03'/ 'Georges Interview 2:39'/ 'Ringos Interview 1:03']. In 1964, Ed Rudy was the only American news reporter to travel with The Beatles on their entire first US visit, from the day they landed in the States on February 7th, 1964 to their first American concert tour in August. Ed was there in New York, Washington DC, Miami and all the cities on the tour & had exclusive access to all four group members, Brian Epstein, Mal Evans, Neil Aspinal & everyone in The Beatles entourage. He interviewed them for the 440 radio stations that carried Ed Rudy Reports on Radio Pulsebeat News [documentary albums of these interviews were released on LP in 1964 & 1965]. Being so susceptible to wear, all four of these acetates remain in superb condition, which is a near miracle in itself. It is unusual for more than a dozen or so acetates to be manufactured of any particular record. To get these all together in one go is a one-off!)
