VELVET UNDERGROUND White Light / White Heat (2009 Japanese limited edition 6-track SHM-CD [Super High Material CD - playable on all CD players] album, originally released in 1968, superbly presented in mini LP-style pasted card sleeve reproducing the original 'black on black' skull design [in addition, the back sleeve contains the following errors, in line with the original US edition: 'There She Comes Now', Lou Reed lead guitar credit, Andy Warhol cover concept] with Japanese / English lyric booklet, plus bonus mini LP-style card sleeve reproducing the 1976 UK 'toy soldiers' design, with corrected back cover credits + obi strip UICY-93896)

The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.
