Tracklisting & More Information

The Labels
After the first two pressings on the now legendary black and gold Parlophone label, this third pressing was on the black and yellow Parlophone design. The Parlophone logo is in striking yellow with all other text in silver on a black background.
The perimeter text on the label reads "The Parlophone Co Ltd." yet it omits the "Recording first published" and "Sold In The Uk Subject To..." text.
This copy has the MT tax code is clearly visible on either side of the spindle hole on Side 2.

The matrix numbers are machine stamed into the dead vinyl. They both end -1 indicating that this one was among the first pressed on this third run. They are as follows

Side One - YEX 94-1
Side Two - YEX 95-1

The vinyl shows just a few very light paper scuffs or hairlines and on testing plays beautifully without sounding clear, loud, clean and crisp with only a very minor spindle rubs to be seen, overall a lovery EX grade example

Complete with "Use Emitex" poly lined inner bag.

The front laminated flipback sleeve is the E J Day design as opposed to the later Garrod & Lofthouse design.

The front of the sleeve has a large 'stereo' logo in the top right hand corner. It has crisp, clean laminate. The Angus Mcbean photo has rich vivid colours. The back cover shows some minor flipback back wear, just turned up or worn back to their extremeties and some general typical minor corner scuffing. A tiny initial is annoted on the reverse cover opening edge just above the bottom flipback, very small and unobtrusive. Otherwise there are very few signs of storage or age with the sleeve retaining a bright vivid appearance in its entirety, perfectly legible print throughout with the spine free of any rubbing or crushing, and the front cover itself has save for one or two minor laminate creases no other obvious wear, a fabulous example considering its age clearly well cared for by its original keeper.

This record is now fifty five years old and the first we've seen in similar condition in well over 12.
It is in stereo which many stores did not carry in stock and had to be specially ordered as there were far more mono copies manufactured.
It is the debut album of the biggest band in history.
Most copies of these originals were played excessively at parties and badly scratched.

Overall a spectacular one owner EX grade copy of this game changer - a fabulous investment!
