The Labels - Each of the LP's has an 'Apple' logo white label on one side and a picture label on the other. The 'Red' album has a picture of the unsliced Apple on the picture side, the 'Blue' album has a picture of the sliced Apple on the picture side. The labels do not correspond to the content. The Red vinyl LP is labelled 'Side 1' on both side, the Blue album is labelled 'Side 2' & 'Side 4'


The Records - The red vinyl LP contains the tracks from sides 1&2 of the double LP '1962-1966' . The blue vinyl LP contains tracks from sides 3&4 from the double LP '1967-70'.Unfortunately the records have some heat damage which under close inspection has left a pattern on the vinyl, however they are not warped and play fine with some minimal background noise. It's important to stress that it is the packaging, labelling and promo nature that makes this item rare, not the musical content which does not differ from the commercial release.

The display consists of two PVC record holders presenting the records vertically with a 12" x 6" header card. The header card has a purple toned band picture with Japanese text alongside with price information. The band name is along the top in pink and in the bottom left hand corner are the logos for Toshiba/EMI & Odeon.

Very few of these amazing sets were produced as they were only sent to selected retail outlets, not radio stations, journalists and DJ's as was common practice
