GARY HIGGINS Red Hash (Very rare 1973 US 'acid folk' private press 11-track stereo vinyl LP, pasted picture sleeve. This super-obscure self-financed longplayer, pressed in tiny quantities, lay undiscovered for thirty-two years until a reissue program through US indie Drag City in 2005 let it gain much deserved wider attention. Unlike other undiscovered 'gems' it's a really strong album with a folky/singer songwriter feel, psychedelic flourishes and a wonderfully doomy quality throughoutand now rightfully taking its place alongside similarly reassessed '60s/'70s obscurities [Vashti Bunyan, Linda Perhacs, Damon etc]. The sleeve is still in the original shrink and shows minimal shelfwear, the vinyl is flawless and grades Near Mint. This is the first time we've ever offered this album for sale, the chances of finding one again are remote to say the least. Highly recommended! WMI3673)
