DOUG QUATTLEBAUM Softee Man Blues (Very rare 1962 US 14-track vinyl LP on the deep groove Prestige Bluesville label, pasted picture sleeve with detailed liner notes on the reverse panel. Deep, rural acoustic blues from the Carolina native who after cutting several discs in the '50s drifted into obscurity, he was rediscovered by blues historian Pete Welding [playing music from his ice cream van's PA system - hence the Softee Man Blues title - we are not makiing this up!] before recording this wonderful selection of blues standards. The sleeve, which is still in its open shrinkwrap with vintage price sticker, shows just a little corner wear, the vinyl has some scuffs/hairlines and is graded VG/VG+ but plays to a higher standard BV1065)
