CREAM Wheels Of Fire (2013 Japanese promo sample issue of the out of print limited edition 17-track digitally remastered double Platinum SHM-CD [Super High Material CD - playable on most CD players]. The ultimate compact disc utilizing platinum in place of the aluminium to form the reflective coating. This copy was issued to radio stations and reviewers ahead of the actual release.
Originally released in 1968, this edition features the the 11-track album including the bonusrecordings Anyone For Tennis and Falstaff Beer Commercial, along with the 6-track second disc 'Live At The Filmore'. Each disc is promo stamped, features a mini paper sleeve replica of the original silver gatefold picture sleeve with a red obi-strip & lyric book, along with a wrap-around gold version of the sleeve also with a red obi. That's not all, this fantastic set comes housed in a special 5½" x 5½" x 1" white box with pasted artwork on the front and a promo stickered full back obi-strip. These sets were produced in limited numbers and are rarely seen outside of Japan, and the promo examples are extremely rare and very sought after, the first we have ever seen UICY-40038/9)

Platinum SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] is the ultimate compact disc utilizing platinum in place of the aluminum to form the reflective coating in addition to the proven SHM-CD technology, which features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head.

The label surface is printed a turquoise blue colour, this helps to absorb the unwanted pickup/stray light which is reflected by the playback machine.

Platinum SHM-CD is fully compatible with standard CD players. However, it will not play on CD players that are not compatible with CD-R (Compact Disc-Recordable) discs.
