THE CORRIES Strings & Things (1970 UK 10-track stereo LP, on the one box EMI logo Columbia label. The album features Roy Williamson & Ronnie Browne playing strange custom instruments called Combolins, where one is essentially a combination ofMandolin, Guitar & Bass with movable slides & the other being a combination of Bandurria & Guitar with thirteen sympathetic drone strings. Needless to say, what you get to hear on this album is unique. The instruments came about as the resultofthe Corries having to play fourteen instruments between them, so Roy, being also a Luthier, had the idea of combining some of them! The front laminated sleeve & vinyl appear in excellent condition SCX6442)
