VARIOUS Pop Weekly 01 - 37 (Amazing set of the first THIRTY SEVEN 7" x 9½" 'Pop Weekly' magazines, issued between September 1962 & May 1963, with each magazine containing approximately sixteen pages of photographs & articles about the popular stars of the day, including Elvis, Cliff Richard, Billy Fury & more. Interestingly, they also have what they bill as 'Great Britain's only Pop Star Chart!', which had Billy Fury at number one for the Christmas Week of 1962, with Cliff at number two, Elvis at number three & The Shadows at number four. Just twelve months later, a new group had made a bit of an impact on the scene, so this is an interesting snapshot of the birth of the UK teen phenomenon and the 'Pop' magazines that followed in its wake. Apart from a date written on the front cover, the magazines are in superb condition & free from any creasing or defacement, the only blemish being an occasional orange stain from the poor metal used in the staples - A wonderful collection!)
