STEVE MILLER BAND Bingo! (2010 UK 10-track CD album - Co-produced by Miller and engineer Andy Johns [Stones, Zeppelin], 'Bingo!' is Steve's his first new recordings in 17 years, and is the first album from sessions Miller conducted in March 2008 at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch in the woods of Marin County. Drawing from the songbooks of Jimmy Reed, T-Bone Walker, BB King, Jimmie Vaughan and others, Miller and Johns transformed the classic rhythm and blues songs into monumental rock performances. They spiced some of the tracks with the Latin percussion battery of conga player Michael Carabello, founding member of Santana, and timbales ace Adrian Areas, son of Carabello's partner from the original group, Jose 'Chepito' Areas. Guitarist Joe Satriani traded solos on a couple of songs with Miller, whose brilliant guitar playing was a major feature of the sessions. He is the Gangster of Love. Some people call him Maurice, the Midnight Toker or the Space Cowboy. And with 'Bingo!', a masterpiece album by one of the greats, Steve Miller shows he still speaks of the pompitus of love.
