ELVIS COSTELLO Live At The El Mocambo (2009 Japanese exclusive limited edition 14-track SHM-CD [Super High Material CD - playable on all CD players] album, originally released in 1978 in Canada as a short-run promotional-only album - recorded on March 6th 1978 at the sold-out El Mocambo in Toronto and broadcast live by CHUM-FM, the subsequent LP became highly collectible and heavily bootlegged. This raw, energetic live performance in the midst of the late 70s punk/new wave movement captures a band and an artist at their most impassioned; presented in mini LP-style card picture sleeve with fold-out Japanese/English lyric sheet + obi strip)

The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.
