Tracklisting & More Information

This amazing item documents a slice of pop music history - Cream's second ever public performance and their first high profile appearance.

They made their debut at Manchester's legendary Twisted Wheel Club on the 29th July 1966, and two days later took to the stage in Windsor at the three-day 6th National Jazz Festival, which by this time had added the word 'blues' to reflect the growing popularity of the R&B influenced pop acts, with the jazz artists mainly confined to the afternoon sessions. The band hadn't even confirmed their new name at this early stage, being billed simply as 'Eric Clapton - Jack Bruce - Ginger Baker'!

Also on the bill for the weekend were The Small Faces, Spencer Davis, The Who, The Yardbirds, Georgie Fame, The Action, Bluesology (featuring Elton John), Chris Farlowe and a number of respected club acts including Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band, Jimmy James & The Vagabonds, Julian Covey & The Machine and The Alan Bown Set! Anybody out there got a time machine I can borrow?

The handbill measures approximately 6” x 8½” and remarkably still has the original booking slip attached. It remains in fabulous condition with only a little faint creasing to two corners and a very small, barely discernible area of discolouration on the reverse. There are no rips, tears, writing or other marks.

A fascinating and evocative piece of original memorabilia!
