Road (2009 issue UK Deluxe Edition 3-disc [2CD/1DVD] set - The idea
for this evening was sparked off by Jon Lord and Pete York in the
honour of Tony Ashton. They booked the large and prestigious Abbey
Road Studio for the special evening in 2000, and by the day of the
show there was a huge list of people wanting to take part: John
Entwistle, Zak Starkey, Chris Barber, Bernie Marsden and Mickey
Moody [Whitesnake], Eddie Hardin, Ian Paice and of coursethe
initiators Jon Lord & Pete York to name just a few. The show kicks off
with Johnnie Johnson & Dave Williams, before Pete York takes over
for a short set, enlivened by Zoot Money's unexpected appearance.
John Entwistle follows with half a dozen rock & roll standards, backed
up by Zak Starkey and John 'Rabbit' Bundrick. Comprising a 23-track
digitally remastered 2-CD set featuring recordings of performances
from the night; plus a DVD including a private filming that makes the
whole experience complete)
