A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...
| PATTO Patto (Rare original 1971 UK issue 8-track LP on the Vertigo
'swirl' label, textured gatefold picture sleeve designed by Tony Benyon
[of NME 'Lone Groover' fame] with poly lined 'swirl' inner sleeve.
The sleeve has a couple of small marks on the front & a past
owners name on the reverse, there is a little light shelfwear mostly on
the edges and corners, the spine is superb with legible print, the inside
spread is beautifully clean and unblemished. The label also has a
past owners name which has been blanked out, but the vinyl remains
excellent with only very light cosmetic marks. Although this isn't mint,
this is still a very respectable example of this legendary debut, and an
ideal play copy)
Tracklisting: 1. The Man 6:10
2. Hold Me Back 4:40
3. Time To Die 3:00
4. Red Glow 5:15
5. San Antone 3:10
6. Government Man 4:20
7. Money Bag 10:10
8. Sittin' Back Easy 3:30 | | PATTO Hold Your Fire (2002 Italian audiophile issue of the 1971
8-track LP pressed on 180gm Virgin Vinyl & housed in a heavy duty
replica of the original gatefold picture sleeve - Still sealed in the
original custom stickered shrink! AK190)
Tracklisting: 1. Hold Your Fire
2. You, You Point Your Finger
3. How's Your Father
4. See You At The Dance Tonight
5. Give It All Away
6. Air-Raid Shelter
7. Tell Me Where Have You Been
8. Magic Door | | PATTO Hold Your Fire - VG/EX (Incredibly rare original 1971
UK 8-track LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label, produced by Muff
Winwood and housed in the legendary fold-out picture sleeve
drawn by Roger Dean and based upon the game of
'consequences'with threefront sections that open-out
separately to give you eight possible variations, complete
with the original poly-lined 'swirl' company inner. The sleeve
on this copy is strictly graded VG- as has some minor
shelfwear and a sticker markon the front. The vinyl remains
a beautiful Excellent with just a couple of light surface marks
which do not affect play. A very respectable copy at an
advantageous price) See 'More Info' for further details
on this much sought after original...
Tracklisting: 1. Hold Your Fire
2. You, You Point Your Finger
3. How's Your Father
4. See You At The Dance Tonight
5. Give It All Away
6. Air Raid Shelter
7. Tell Me Where You've Been
8. Magic Door
One of the hardest UK Vertigo LPs to find and one of the most highly-rated musically - an inventive mix of jazz, blues and hard rock with outstanding guitar work by Ollie Halsall.
The superb fold-out sleeve was prone to damage as a result of its construction with three separate front sections. This copy has some minor storage marks and has a sticker mark in the top right corner which has left a small area of paper loss and has not effected the artwork
The tracklisting, credits and individual portraits of the band members are printed on the reverse of the fold-out sections, with the lyrics to all compositions printed on the reverse in white text on black.
The vinyl is in excellent condition with only a few light surface marks and has a few spindle marks on the otherwise beautifully clean labels indicating some play. The matrix numbers are machine stamped into the 'dead wax' areas:
A-Side: 6360032 1Y//1 420 1 1 4
B-Side: 6360032 2Y//1 420 1 1 5
| | PATTO Hold Your Fire (Mega rare original 1972 New Zealand Vertigo
'swirl' label 8-track vinyl LP produced by Muff Winwood and housed in
a fully laminated flipback picture sleeve designed by Roger Dean. See
'More Info' for futher details and moreabout the condition of this
sought after original... #6360032)
Tracklisting: 1. Hold Your Fire
2. You, You Point Your Finger
3. How's Your Father
4. See You At The Dance Tonight
5. Give It All Away
6. Air Raid Shelter
7. Tell Me Where You've Been
8. Magic Door
Despite being 35 years old, the sleeve on this copy remains in overall excellent condition - with only faint ringwear however there is some instances of laminate lifting. The colours on the front are bright and unfaded, however there is 2" of flipback missing on the revers and original pinched spine.
Unlike the UK pressing, which has the 'swirl' design as the A-side label, the labels on this issue have the 'swirl' on both sides at the top with track titles and credits printed below. There is a faint sticker mark on the B-side label, however they are otherwise both beautifully clean with clear black print.
The vinyl is a stunning near MINT - it has only a couple of barely discernible (and inaudible) surface marks as evidence of play, retaining a fabulous 'just pressed' shine!
A wonderful copy of a very hard to find edition! | | PATTO Hold Your Fire (Very Rare 1971 US press Vertigo spiral label
promo stereo 8-track LP on the large swirl positioned above the
spindle hole and 'Vertigo' logo at the bottom of the label with
Promotional Copy Not For Sale credit on the B-side.Internal pasted
gatefold picture sleeve with lyrics inside and original 'Recommended
Cuts' hype sticker. The sleeve shows some light general ringwear to
the panels, a little corner rubbing and edgewwear including the
beginnings of some splitting to the top and bottom edges of the back
panel, quite typical for a thick card gatefold of this type, age and
territory without the support of any laminate or flipbacks, in any case
it remains intact and holds its shape well. All text is fully legible and
the colours are vivid, the sticker is a great bonus and it comes with a
Vertigo swirl inner. The vinyl shows some minor general surface scuffs
or hairlines to indicate light play, grading Excellent overall - a genuine
progressive rarity! VEL1008)
