A FEW OF THE ITEMS WE WANT...
 | OZ No. 32 - Granny's Oz (This, the first issue of 1971, was subtitled
the 'Emergency Issue' as its thirty six 12" pages were mostly devoted
to fundraising for the obscenity trial caused by the furore surrounding
issue twenty eight, but also included an interview with Muddy Waters
contributed by Charles Shaar Murray, an article on 'pure' foodstuffs,
American deserters in Sweden & the usual letters, adult cartoons &
general whimsy. The cover on this issue has a tear on the back, but no
paper loss, with the front having just one small nick at the edge. Apart
from this, all contents are in fantastic condition with each page still in
the same condition as the day it was printed. A marvellous forty year
old history book of sorts in superb condition, a fitting companion to
issue twenty eight!) | | OZ No. 32 - Granny's Oz (This, the first issue of 1971, was subtitled

magazine, dealing more with matters of the British
Constabulary & the Obscenity bust, rather than those of a
porcine nature. As is usual with this cult magazine, which set
the ball rolling for so many other publications now common on
newstands. Groundbreaking & intelligent, at the time deemed
'underground', it tackled issues that at the time were taboo
but are now discussed quite freely. Articles in this issue
include a charton the effects of mind altering consumables,
Eastern & Encounter Group Therapy, the usual adult cartoons,
letters & more. A charming & unique feature of this issue is
that the front cover has been rubber stamped 20p to correct
the printed price of 40p, obviously a casualty of the
Decimalisation that took place that year where someone
incorrectly converted the prior four shilling cover price and
accidentally doubled the price! This copy is in Very Good
condition with scuffing/light creasing to edges and, as ever,
can only be described as an essential read!) | | OZ No. 35 - Special Pig Issue (1971 UK forty eight page

that was a pioneer for so many other publications now
common on newstands. Groundbreaking & intelligent, at the
time deemed 'underground', it tackled issues that were then
taboo but are now discussed quite freely. This issue, replete
with the usual cosmic cartoons & illustrations, has articles on
Roddy McDowell [yes indeed], Women's Liberation, Extracts
from Bill Levy's Journal, the Food Supply, 'Acid' movies &
more. The cove rshows nothing but the lightest wear & the
whole magazine is free from any rips or tears) |
