vinyl LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label, a superb British Jazz-Rock
gem from the Affinity frontwoman and featuring Chris
Spedding, gatefold picture sleeve with company swirl inner.
The sleeve has light rubbing to the edges wtih no seam splits
or tears leaving it a nice VG+ example; the labels are clean
with moderate spindlewear only and the vinyl itself has been
professinally cleaned and shows light scuffs with light
ambient noise in the quite spots, but still produces a great
sound which demands to be played loud making for a great
VG+ copy. This is only the second copy we have ever seen!)

remastered 2-CD set, a fitting celebration of the work of one of
Britain’s most gifted female vocalists and gathers together both
of Linda Hoyle’s solo albums, and includes the bonus recording,
Who’s There, recorded during sessions for The Fetch, and
previously unreleased in Europe; housed in a fold-out card wallet
picture sleeve including a booklet with liner notes by Linda Hoyle
herself, and in a card picture slipcase. Althoughnot sealed, this
example remains in the open shrink and remains in a 'near as
new' condition)
Tracklisting: Linda Hoyle first came to attention as vocalist with the excellent, but short-lived jazz rock band AFFINITY in 1970, after recording an album for VERTIGO records, Linda then embarked on recording her first solo album, “Pieces of Me”, for Vertigo in 1971.
Collaborating with celebrated musician Karl Jenkins (of Nucleus and later Soft Machine) Linda Hoyle produced a wonderful and innovative album which fused many influences and was ground-breaking in its direction. “Pieces of Me” also featured contributions from guitarist CHRIS SPEDDING and fellow Nucleus members JOHN MARSHALL (drums) and JEFF CLYNE (bass).
Despite being a work of such quality and critical acclaim, “Pieces of Me” failed to make a commercial impression and Linda emigrated to Canada in 1972 where she continued to sing and also practised as an art therapist. In 2013 she began work on another solo album, working with musician Oliver Whitehead and her former colleague in Affinity, Mo Foster. The album “The Fetch” appeared in 2015 and was also greeted with acclaim.
This two disc set is a fitting celebration of the work of one of Britain’s most gifted female vocalists and gathers together both of Linda Hoyle’s solo albums and includes a bonus track previously unreleased in Europe,

LP on the Vertigo 'swirl' label, matte non-gatefold pasted picture
sleeve. Both sleeve & vinyl show few signs of age with minimal
shelfwear or edge scuffing & only a few visible light surface marks on
the vinyl. This is the first Japanese copy of this album that we have
ever seen - until now, we didn't know a Japanese pressing existed!

The sleeve, shows some light denting at the corners, but for a thirty five year old album sleeve, this is still in very nice condition with the only other defects being some light edge scuffing & a tiny bit of shelfwear.
The vinyl too is wonderful with only a couple of visible light surface marks on each side to stop it being perfect. It has obviously been very well looked after over the years.
Upon play, the quality of this Japanese press comes into its own with each instrument having clarity & depth with crisp vocals.
Between tracks & in some of the quieter passages there is some evidence of light surface noise, but by & large this is negligable & there is nothing significant to detract from the pleasure of listening to this astonishing solo album.
