78-79 (2010 UK limited edition 11-track LP pressed on
White Vinyl comprising a remastered collection of
tracks which were originally recorded between 1978-79 by the
Hackney-based trio who took advantage of everyone else being
distracted by the neanderthal punk devolution by locking
themselves down and making progressive, minimal synthpop
with loads of busy, loopy weirdness. Much of the time they're
walking a peculiar path along the border between experimental
minimal noise and disco, with consistently baffling and
enthralling results - a dense, repetitive soup of pure synth tones,
understated vocals and clinical drum machine beats which is not
only authentic but still stands up to scrutiny 35 years on! The
mustard-tinted picture sleeve comes with its credit insert and the
custom-printed card inner which has a little foxing but is also
individually hand-numbered and the vinyl looks barely
played GPS85)
